   The Sandwich Park District offers a wide variety of travel programs for adults.  Whether you enjoy plays or dinner theater, shopping trips or casinos, there is something for everyone!  Our program coordinator, Christine McMahon, will act as your hostess and will make sure you have an enjoyable experience, whatever you choose.

LUNCH BUNCH - GENERAL INFORMATION

Register for our Lunch Bunch outings and enjoy food, fun and fellowship. Each trip is a wonderful opportunity to try different restaurants you might not venture to on your own. Our fee includes park district van transportation and escort. The meal cost and gratuity are "on your own". As time permits, browsing in area shops is included. NOTE: A step stool is used to enter and exit the park district van.

ALIANO'S RESTORANTE   Batavia, IL

The Aliano brothers, Mario and Phil, are bringing classic dishes to Batavia showcasing their taste of Italian cuisine. Guests will experience “Old Country” recipes and the passion and warmth of Italian hospitality. “Everyone feels like family at Aliano’s Ristorante”. Each dish is homemade and authentically prepared with fresh ingredients. Buon Appetito! Specials include Italiano Baked Cheese Panzerotti and Aliano’s Gondola (Baked Calzone). Prices range from $7 to $10 for sandwiches, $12 to$18 for entrees.

CHEZ MOI   Geneva, IL

Chez Moi (pronounced Shay Mwah) is an inviting, French-inspired CAFÉ featuring traditional bistro seating, full-service dining room, carry-out bakery, and one-of-a-kind crępe station. A unique breakfast/lunch menu is available featuring Quiches, Croissants, Sandwiches, Salads, Galettes and Crepes. Prices range from $4 to $10. Specialty drinks include Sparking Lemonade, Diabolo Menthe/Fraise, fruit juices Latte’s Macchiato, and Cappuccino. Although French inspired, the food is actually quite familiar - ham and cheese, tuna or egg salad are used in several menu selections.

DINNER THEATER

SOUTHERN CROSSROADS AT CIRCA 21  Rock Island, IL

A joyous, hilarious, and frequently touching production set in the midst of the Great Depression, Southern Crossroads follows a traveling family of singers and musicians who arrive at their new gig in Virginia finding the doors locked and theatre out-of business. Knowing, however, that the show must go on,” this gifted family of musicians decide to bring entertainment to the locals regardless, treating them (the audience) to an old-fashioned, high-spirited Southern jamboree with songs like “Mountain Dew,” “I’ll Fly Away,” “House Of The Rising Sun,” “Keep On The Sunny Side,” and :Midnight Special,” and many more! This wonderful dinner playhouse, located in Rock Island, IL, offers a great theater performance, a wonderful meal and scrumptious dessert that is served at intermission.

STUDIO MOVIE GRILL

This is a NEW concept in going to the movies. Located in Wheaton, IL this movie theater offers dinning right in the comfort of your reserved seat. Menu items are ordered from your seat with a push of a button. Servers deliver your selections before and during the movie. At the time of this publication the movie selection is not available. There may be a chance that Man of Steel (the Superman movie filmed in Sandwich and Plano) will be playing. The name of the movie will be not be available until the Thursday before the trip. The fee includes transportation and the cost of the movie. Menu selections will be “on your own”.

ABRAHAM LINCOLN MUSEUM    Springfield, IL

The movie was a hit over the winter. Now experience this fantastic museum, located right here in Illinois. This museum is a wonderful experience for all ages. Children are welcome, accompanied with an adult. Abe Lincoln comes to life as history is told throughout this amazing museum. The holographic and special effects theaters will entertain, educate, and mesmerize visitors with ghostly images, live actors and high action. It is unlike any other in the United States, featuring high tech exhibits, interactive displays and multimedia programs, as well as a reproduction of the White House as it looked in 1861. Before leaving Springfield, a tour of Lincoln’s tomb is included. The day concludes with a drive through Oak Ridge Cemetery to see the World War II, Korean Memorial and Vietnam Memorials. Meals are “on your own”. There is Subway inside the museum and a few restaurants within walking distance. Motor coach transportation is included. If time permits there will be a comfort stop on the way home. All ages pay the same fee. Please register by June 14th.

TALL SHIPS / CHICAGO MATCH CUP   Navy Pier, Chicago, IL

Navy Pier's east end will be transformed to showcase the best of Chicago Match Cup and a fleet of majestic and historic tall ships.  Participants will have the opportunity to board and tour the Tall Ships at dockside or take a sail on Lake Michigan on select Tall Ships for an even more unique experience.  Enjoy seating areas, hospitality areas, special family friendly activities and live commentary to enjoy the thrills on the water.  On-board tours include a meet and greet with professional sailors.  The Chicago Match Cup Finals and Award Ceremony will be on Sunday.  They will compete for their share of the $100,000 prize money purse and points earned toward the Tour's overall World Championship worth $175 million in prize money - the richest in the sailing world. The sailing matches will take place just feet from the edge of Navy Pier.  The trip includes transportation and admission into the Tall Ships festival area.  All food, or "sail-aways" or other Navy Pier activities are "on-your-own".  The group will be on their own to discover other areas of Navy Pier, as desired.  The trip is available for all ages, however, children must be accompanied by an adult.

This is a "Senior Savings" day at Wrigley Field. Participants ages 65 and over receive a discounted price. Cheer the Cubs to victory against the Philadelphia Phillies. Fourteen tickets are available at regular price so friends and family can accompany seniors. Put on your Cubby Blue and join us for a great afternoon in the Friendly Confines! Game time is 1:20pm.

A Nashville Elvis Tribute! This motor coach tour is an exclusive Fancy Free Holidays Tour. Nashville is home to a large amount of Elvis Presley history and passion and in August will welcome fans and Elvis Tribute Artists from all over the world for three days of brotherhood, celebration and music. Sharing Elvis music and history with fans and keeping Elvis' memory alive is the goal of each Tribute Artist as they perform a wide variety of Elvis music from the 50's through the 70's. The first day after arriving in Nashville, dinner and entertainment is included aboard the General Jackson. On day 2 enjoy the included breakfast, a self-guided tour of the Country Music Hall of Fame, and in the afternoon enjoy the "Nashville to Memphis Elvis Tribute Artists Showcase” at the Silver Dollar Saloon and Hard Rock Cafe. The evening is at your leisure to explore downtown Nashville. Day 3 includes breakfast, a self-guided tour of the Ryman Auditorium followed by a second day of showcases at Silver Dollar Saloon and Hard Rock Cafe. Dinner and the Copy Cast show is included at the Hard Rock Cafe. The accommodations are at the Maxwell House Hotel, Nashville for all 3 nights.
