Whether you enjoy plays or dinner theater, shopping trips or casinos, there is
something for everyone! Our program coordinator, Christine McMahon, will
act as your hostess and will make sure you have an enjoyable experience,
whatever you choose.

 LUNCH BUNCH - GENERAL INFORMATION
Register for our Lunch Bunch outings and enjoy food, fun and
fellowship. Each trip is a wonderful opportunity to try different restaurants
you might not venture to on your own. Our fee includes park district van
transportation and escort. The meal cost and gratuity are "on your own". As time
permits, browsing in area shops is included. NOTE: A step stool is used to enter
and exit the park district van.
MIMI'S CAFE
Downtown Naperville
Known for warm and attentive hospitality, delicious fresh-cooked meals and
quaint cafe charm, the colorful French cottage themed building and lush garden
lets the guest know right away that Mimi's is a special place to visit.
Menu selections include specialty entrees, freshly baked quiches, signature
sandwiches and more. Prices range from $8.95 to $14.95 - or higher for
steaks

TASTE OF EASTERN EUROPE
Crest Hill, IL
This restaurant features Polish, Bohemian and American cuisine. Entrees
include roast pork or duckling, thuringer, bratwurst, pirogues and more.
Prices range from $6.50 to $10.95. This restaurant brings back the
authentic ethnic tastes of homemade cooking.

CYD'S GOURMET KITCHEN
Peoria, IL
This special lunch bunch outing visits the wonderful gourmet kitchen, cafe
and food shop of a local native, Cyd Larson-Henrickson. The menu includes
burgers, toasted ham and brie, caprice baguette and turkey club sandwiches.
Salads include a Greek tossed salad, cranberry chicken salad, fruit and nut
prosciutto salad, and Cyd's baby greens salad. Fries are made from
scratch, soups are available for sides. Browsing in area shops, including
the new Shoppe of Grand Prairie, is included. As in all lunch bunch trips,
your meal is on your own.

DINNER THEATER
MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET
Apollo Theater, Chicago
On December 4, 1956 an
auspicious twist of fate brought together Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl
Perkins and Elvis Presley. This show is inspired by the famed 1956
recording session that brought together four of the most legendary figures in
the history of music. Featuring a treasure trove of the greatest rock,
rockabilly, gospel, R&B, and country standards of the 1950's including - "Blue
Suede Shoes", "Fever", "Sixteen Tons", "Who Do You Love", "Great Balls of Fire",
and "Whole Lotta' Shakin' Goin' On". Million Dollar Quartet captures the
infectious spirit, freewheeling excitement, and thrilling sounds of a creative
prime that all came together for a night that would raise the roof. NOTE:
Included is a dinner of pasta, salad, and fresh homemade breads at the Soprano's
Restaurant before the show.

JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING
TECHNICOLOR DREAM COAT
The Fireside Theater in Ft. Atkinson, WI is hosting one of the most popular
musicals of the last 50 years! The story of Joseph and his brothers is
filled with great music, costumes, laughter, joy and heart. Utilizing many
different styles of music from pop/rock to country, to musical comedy, this
sparkling show follows young Joseph as he faces adversity and triumphs through
his dreams and his strong, unwavering faith. The Fireside "experience"
begins with dinner before entering the theater for the "Broadway" style show.
Dinner choices include Fireside's signature salad - fresh garden greens topped
with cantaloupe, watermelon, blueberries, kiwi, mandarin oranges with sesame
croutons and papaya chutney dressing; freshly baked bread, sirloin of beef
stuffed with onions and bacon and braised in a red wine beef stock; skinless
breast of chicken dipped in an egg tempura batter, served with escalloped
potatoes, and Bavarian red cabbage. Dessert is Boston Cream pie.

JACOB HENRY MANSION TOUR AND DINNER
Joliet, IL
This historical landmark located in Joliet is claimed to be the largest and
best example of Renaissance Revival architecture still standing in the state of
Illinois. Today the lovely and fully decorated mansion is well know for
its beauty, Old Victorian Charm and furnishings, as well as delicious meals and
entertainment. Taking over three years to complete with 16, 800 square
feet consisting of over 40 rooms, the mansion was built by a master craftsman
from Germany along with three cabinet makers to fashion the elaborate carved
interior. The day includes a tour of the mansion, a matinee performance by
the Chicago Rat Pack at the dinner theater, only a short walk from the mansion.
Relive the days of Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Jr., and Frank Sinatra.
Reminisce as the familiar melodies and comedy fill the afternoon with great
entertainment. "Don't be a drag man, grab your doll and come swing with us!".
The plated lunch includes a seasoned breast of chicken dressed with a delicate
apricot sauce on seasoned rice with vegetables.

FLOWER AND GARDEN SHOW
Navy Pier, Chicago
Always a popular trip, the Chicago Flower and Garden Show features 25
different garden displays by area designers and sponsors. "Tablescapes" is
a unique display featuring table settings with flowers and greenery; a large
market place offering unique tools, garden equipment, and other specialty items
and a variety of topics are presented at the show's daily free seminars.
Lunch is "on your own" at one of the restaurants within Navy Pier or at the
Garden Show deli. Your fee includes transportation and entrance ticket.

SHIPSHEWANA FLEA MARKET
Indiana
Located in northern Indiana, in the heart of Amish country, the flea market
has over 900 vendors and offers something for everyone. Participants will
have the whole day to explore the market or the many quaint shops offering
quilts, crafts, antiques and more. Wear comfortable shoes, dress for the
weather, and remember to respect the religious beliefs of the Amish. . . no
photos, please. Lunch is on your own. The last stop of the day is E
& S Sales, the largest bulk sales store in Shipshewana. Everything is
available in large quantities.
