Veterans Park is the smallest park in the Sandwich Park District system.  This half acre park is located in downtown Sandwich  across from the historical Sandwich Opera House on Railroad Street. This property was deeded to the Park District in 1977 by the City of Sandwich.

The large open air gazebo is the focal point of Veterans Park.  It was constructed in 1978 and was dedicated to the memory of Virginia Hood, a past Sandwich Park District board member.  Veterans Park has been host to a large variety of community functions including the annual Memorial Day ceremony, Sandwich Freedom Days celebration and Indian Valley Theater classes.  The gazebo has also been used for several area weddings.

Veterans Park is also home to several memorials.  These include an antique street light donated in memory of Michael Paul Pruski, a memorial stone honoring veterans of past wars and an inscribed marble bench added in 2001 by the Sandwich American Legion and Auxiliary to honor Lester Hage.
